January 3, 2007 : Fly BACK to Kuala Lumpur with Stacey for our last night in Malaysia where JP will be practicing his cuisine on us! yum - will it be magically delicious, and weird??

January 4, 2007 : Back to the airport to hop on a plane to Phuket! Hello Thailand!

our itinerary (long tan version)

DECEMBER 24th 2006: 4pm. arrive at JFK airport bar. imbibe liberally. board plane. leave @ 9:05pm
DECEMBER 25th 2006: entertain ourselves on the plane by assuming false identities, playing egyptian rat screw and watching "the devil wears prada" and "project runway" reruns. exchange gifts of peanuts and tiny bottles of booze. promise ourselves to call our family members for xmas when we get off the plane (right).
DECEMBER 26th 2006: 6:55 am. arrive in singapore. explore for one day. marvel at cleanliness of streets. eat singaporean food. 5:00pm, board flight to malaysia. 5:55pm arrive in kuala lumpur. chill with our new malaysian family. give them levi's and starbucks coffee and gift certificates to wal-mart. eat mad delicious and potentially weird food.
DECEMBER 27th 2006: drive up west coast of malaysia to panang and melaka. stay in fancy hotels. eat crazy tasty and possibly bizarre food. chill lazy style on the beach.
DECEMBER 31st 2006: drive back to kuala lumpur.
JANUARY 1st 2007: fly to kota bharu. wrap ourselves in scarves and pretend to agree with strict muslim law. experience malay culture. eat super yummy and maybe strange dishes. try not to argue when someone tells us to stand in the longer "female only" line, when there are only, like, two men in the other line. chill with rina's mom and celebrate new's years day.
JANUARY 3rd 2007: stacey heads back to kuala lumpur and then back to the states. we fly to thailand. travel south through that country as we eat magically flavorful and no doubt mysterious food.
JANUARY ? 2007: arrive in cambodia. that's spelled like this:

check out angkor wat and phnom penh and devour some truly crazy and yet lip-smacking dishes.
FEBRUARY ? 2007: maybe we've made it to vietnam now. yes. we have! and here we will travel north through the country. maybe we'll get some dental work done. maybe we'll visit some interesting places. maybe we'll eat live baby cobras from the belly of their mother. or those goose fetus eggs. or pickled deer penis. these foods exist here. yes. they. do.
FEBRUARY ? 2007: get to saigon. meet up with chrissie's mom, who will show us the secret inside life of vietnam.
FEBRUARY 23 2007: now we fly home to new york from saigon.

OK, so it's late October and we have exactly 8 weeks and 3 days before we get drunk at JFK before boarding THE LONGEST flight ever to Singapore. Last night we had our first "planning meeting". What will we wear?!
